Booked a double room for me and my partner for one night prior to the cheese rolling festival: the room was spacious, the bed was GREAT (four people could sleep there!!! great for oversize people or messy sleepers that sprawl around in bed), memory foam!!; had a lovely sleep and woke up early in the morning full of energy to climb the steep Cooper’s Hill. This is definitely the place you should sleep at if you want to watch the Cheese Rolling and arrive there early in the morning: the bus stop is 1min away from the hotel. Fridge and microwave (+cutlery and glasses) available in the room for eating in. Bit uncomfortable with the unwindowed bathroom but it was vented so no heavy smells lingering. It’s located 5 mins from Gloucester Train Station so great location, safe at night as well. Great staff (both day and night shifts). Bonus: 3 mins away from a great Wetherspoon, Subway, Costa and Greggs, Boots as well.
Very nice hotel situated in the heart of Gloucester. Comes with all the basic amenities except a toaster, that would be ideal but you make do with the provided utilities. The staff weren't intrusive and we're exceptional in room cleaning during my stay.
Booked a double room for 1 night at a great price. Wasn't sure what to expect but exceeded all expectation. Staff were friendly and super helpful. Room had everything I needed and more ( even had a fridge and microwave) Really comfy bed and great night's sleep.
Stayed for 1 night. Felt like a hostel at check in but the rooms are superb and comfortable. As this is in the city centre, it is a noisy hotel with people coming and going regularly throughout the night and street noise with pubs and clubs emptying. If you are ok with this, it’s a great place to stay at an incredible price!
Excellent budget stay: free WiFi, lovely staff, microwave and fridge as well and plates and cutlery inside the room. Decor is a litle dated and signs of wear, but clean and well maintained. Not a luxurious getaway but perfectly comfortable for a short visit, would recommend to everyone!
As with others, we also had some reservations about staying here after reading some reviews and obviously can't speak for other experiences. However we found the check in easy and staff excellent. Our bags were tagged and taken to our rooms later. The rooms themselves were very clean, spacious and a great shower and nice bathroom. Good to have a microwave, fridges, plates and cutlery if you wanted to bring your own food. The price of the room had been hiked for cheltenham week, but normally the rate is very competent. This is mainly due to the hotel not having any other facilities such as a restaurant, bar etc. However the cafe across the road was excellent and again very reasonable. Good location for this hotel and you can stay overnight in the kings walk car park, which opens again at 7.00an the next day and we were charged £9 for 24 hours. Would recommend this hotel and will return.
Had an amazing time at the hotel.The staff were very friendly. It has better facilities than most 4 star hotels. A fridge and a microwave , cups ,glasses , bowls , plates and cutlery all included in the room price. The beds are very comfortable and the location is perfect as it's close to the train station and it's right in the town centre so shops are all right across the road. The hotel does not cater for meals or breakfast but it has all the pubs and shops next to it so there are plenty of places to eat. This hotel is a great place to stay and I would definitely recommend it.

Great place to stay in Gloucester very close to the coach and railway station. Very clean rooms and bathroom. Helpful staff. The best thing we found in the room was the microwave and fridge in the room along with cutlery and plates and bowls. There was no phone in the room but it was fine. Noisy street just outside but not the hotel's fault, expected at any city centre hotel. Free tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits too.
Good, spacious room, in a good central location, but it wasn't noisy. Having a fridge and microwave in the room was an excellent idea. As was having a full set of cutlery, plates, bowls, glasses, a can opener! (There's an ASDA 10 minutes walk away) Loads of plugs sockets. Hairdryer in the room. Big TV, with a decent selection of channels available. Shower room was good size, with a shower cubicle that didn't leak into the rest of the shower room (a first in all the hotels I've stayed in) Really great value for a double room, booked with quite short notice. The vending machine was out of use at the time I was there, but there are nearby shops and eateries to choose from. Stayed end of August 2023.
